Decorative page edges and trims
Border cut files run a decorative edge along a page or card: floral and botanical trails, heart borders, branch and blossom strips, filigree edges, and simple repeating trims. A border is one of the fastest ways to finish a layout that feels unresolved, because it frames the content without competing with a photo or title for attention. Run one along the bottom of a page, down a single side for an asymmetric look, or across the top of a card front above a sentiment. Long thin borders want a fresh blade and a firm mat, since the narrow connecting sections are where a tired blade drags. Pair Border with Floral for botanical edges, with Frames when you want to enclose a photo rather than edge a page, or with Scallop for softer curved trims. Files ship in SVG, PNG, DXF, and JPG so they cut in Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio and print for print-and-cut projects. Free border files unlock with a registered account.

A border runs along one or more edges and leaves the middle open. A frame encloses an area completely so you can mat a photo or journaling block inside it. Filter the Frames tag when you need the enclosed version.
Borders finish scrapbook page edges, card fronts, invitations, and planner spreads. Cut in vinyl they also edge shelves, mirrors, and window glass, and they repeat well along wrapping paper and gift bags.
Most border files repeat, so cut two or three sections and butt them together end to end on the page. Line up the repeat before you glue, and hide any imperfect join behind a photo corner or an embellishment.
Long narrow shapes have the least material holding them together, so a dull blade drags rather than cuts. Use a fresh fine-point blade, lower the speed, and weed the waste away from the border rather than pulling the border itself off the mat.
