Wavy Ray Sun Cut File. A folk art sun with a calm sleeping face at its center, eyes closed, round cheeks and a small smiling mouth, ringed by twelve wavy beams that all curve the same way so the whole sun reads as calm rather than spiky. Six long beams alternate with six short ones, and each long beam carries a three leaf sprig cut out of it. A wreath of leafy sprigs arcs around the face inside the disc, above and below and down both sides. Everything is one connected piece of solid paper with generous cutouts and thick webbing between them, so it lifts off the mat in a single lift and does not need weeding fiddly slivers. Cut it at three inches for a card front or a planner sticker, at six inches as the focal point of a twelve inch layout, at nine inches as a nursery or wall piece, and at two inches as a repeated accent. Back it with a warm yellow, terracotta or kraft sheet and the face and leaves fill in with color, or cut it in white over a photo.
